My husband who immigrated to Canada two and half years ago has filed for family sponsorship for me and our daughter, and it was approved in Mar.2002 and we got the application kit. However, due to the long separation, we decide to get a divorce.
Question: Do you think this will affect our immigration process? Will we still be able to obtain immigration visa if our divorce were finallized by then?
Answer: No, once you are divorced, you are no longer the family member of the sponsor. The application for immigration to Canada will not be approved under the family category. |
